A mandatory evacuation order is now in effect from along the Rio Grande River at the intersection of Highway 160/Rio Grande County 5N East through the town of Monte Vista to Rio Grande County Road 6E.
Residents in the affected area must evacuate immediately. Do not wait for conditions to worsen. Move to a safe location outside the evacuation area.
Evacuation Instructions:
- Leave Now: Evacuate immediately and follow directions from emergency personnel. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads or barricades.
- Do Not Return: Do not return to the evacuated area until officials announce that the mandatory evacuation order has been lifted.
