The Sanford boys basketball team looked unbeatable in the first half of the CHSAA 2A State Championship game cruising to a 14 point lead over the Wray Eagles.
But… then came the second half!
The Mustangs committed 15 turnovers, 10 in the 4th quarter alone, and the Wray Eagles handed Sanford a stunning 45-41 loss to capture the State Championship. It was the second year in a row Sanford would make it to the championship game and fall short.
