The Sanford Mustangs collect their first league win and move to 5–2 on the season with a 52–0 win over the Sargent Farmers.  Sanford scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and three in the second.  It was the Cash Caldon and Gauge Lewis show in the first half behind the outstanding blocking of their teammates.  Caldon completed one touchdown pass and rushed for another.  Lewis caught Caldon’s touchdown pass.  He rushed for two more from scrimmage and had two punt returns for touchdowns.  Lincoln Reynolds also rushed for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Sargent Farmers looked good at times but were unable to put together any sustained drives.  Wyatt Cross and Cooper Gosar ran hard for the Farmers throughout the game.

The Sanford Mustangs improved to 1-1 in league play and 5-2 overall.  They have a huge league matchup next Friday at home against Mancos.  That game is scheduled to kickoff at 6:00 PM. The Sargent Farmers go to 1-2 in league and 3-4 on the season.  They will step out of the league schedule next week to host Hayden.  That game kicks Friday night at 7:00 PM.
