3 Warrants Served by Monte Vista PD Nets Drugs, Guns and Several Arrests

Over the course of the past few weeks, Detectives with the Monte Vista Police Department obtained search warrants for several locations within Monte Vista for distribution of narcotics. 

On October 24 & 25, 2022, the Monte Vista Police Department served three search warrants with assistance from the Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol.

The first search warrant was served in the 300 block of Davis Street where Adam Trujillo, 30, Monte Vista was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.  Officers recovered methamphetamine and heroin.  Trujillo was booked into the Rio Grande County Jail.

Later in the day on October 24, another search warrant was executed in the 100 block of Faraday Street within Monte Vista.  Raymond Ramirez, 46 and Rachel Ramirez, 53, Monte Vista, were arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Special Offender due to the amount of drugs and weapons recovered. Officers recovered seven (7) firearms, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and cash during the execution of this search warrant (see attached photo). Both were booked into the Rio Grande County Jail.

On October 25, 2022, another search warrant was executed in the 500 block of Franklin Street. During the execution of the warrant, officers encountered 12 people within the house.  Officers also found drug paraphernalia and numerous used needles throughout the house. Ronnie Mascarenes, 30, Monte Vista was arrested for an outstanding warrant. This investigation is on-going.    All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
